The Woodworking industry is one of the many jewels of LaGrange County. Our Amish woodcrafters produce the finest heirloom quality home furnishings that one will ever see. We are also amongst the leaders in producing commercial furniture and fixtures, cabinetry, pallets, furniture components, and other wood products. The Northern Indiana Woodcrafters Association represents over 80 Amish woodcrafting businesses, but there are many more. F&N Woodworking, E&S Wood Creations, RH Yoder Woodworking, Lambright Woodworking, Westpoint Woodworking,
Shipshewana Furniture Company, and Heartland Mattress are all examples of the many woodcrafting businesses producing heirloom quality furniture.
Michiana Laminated Products is a recognized leader in producing high quality commercial furniture and fixtures whose client base includes such known names as Victoria's Secret, Target Stores, Wal-Mart, and numerous others. PalletOne of Indiana is part of PalletOne, the nation's largest manfacturer of new pallets, and produces specialty pallets for use in food and agricultural industries.
Wible Lumber Inc. is in its 3rd generation of family ownership and manufactures hardwood lumber panels and moldings for the furniture, cabinet, and recreational vehicle industries.
Tri-State Hardwood Company buys timber and cuts logs from suppliers in the Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio area to provide local species lumber to customers throughout the United States. These are just a few examples of the many wood-based businesses operating in LaGrange County.
This industry will only continue to grow as consumers desire quality locally crafted goods that are from a renewable and sustainable resource, and LaGrange County's woodworking industry answers that call.

- Between 76 and 125 people were employed in the Primary Wood Products sector in 2009, which consists of businesses that harvest, transport, and process logs.
- More than 300 people were employed in the Secondary Wood Products sector in 2009. Firms in this sector add value to wood by converting it into parts or finished products, such as cabinets, millwork, and furniture.
