LaGrange, Ind. (October 23, 2009)
CenturyLink, the LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation, and the LaGrange County Redevelopment Commission announced today the expansion of CenturyLink’s fiber-optic facilities in LaGrange County to the Fawn River Crossing Industrial Park, located at the southwest corner of Indiana State Road 9 and the I-80/90 Indiana Toll Road.

CenturyLink, formerly EMBARQ, is a leading provider of high-quality voice, broadband, and video services over its advanced communications networks to consumers and businesses in LaGrange County, across Indiana and in 32 other states.

The company will extend its fiber-optic network, which currently ends at the intersection of Indiana State Road 9 and County Road 700N, to the entrance of the Fawn River Crossing Industrial Park. Service will then be available to customers inside of the Industrial Park, as well as the surrounding area as customer needs dictate.

"CenturyLink has been a great partner in the LaGrange County community and we're excited that they are willing to make this additional investment inside LaGrange County" said Keith Gillenwater, executive director of the LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation. "This will make our properties in the Fawn River Crossing Industrial Park and the surrounding areas that much more marketable and existing companies will have the opportunity to take advantage of this as well. With the recent economic downturn, gaining access to state of the art communications networks is critical to us moving forward."
