LaGrange, Ind. (August 4, 2009)
Dometic Corporation announced today, plans for an expansion at its LaGrange, Indiana facility. The company will make real estate improvements and add new equipment to its 509 South Poplar Street location. The project is expected to be completed by 2010 and will create 116 new jobs. This would more than double the current workforce of approximately 100 employees.

Dometic Corporation is the market leader in developing products to provide comfort in recreational vehicles, marine watercraft, commercial vehicles or hotel rooms. The project will increase the manufacturing capacity of retractable RV awnings at the LaGrange facility. Dometic will also create 241 new jobs and expand its Elkhart facility.

The company will invest approximately $3,045,000 in the project, with approximately $100,000 going towards real estate improvements and $2,945,000 towards manufacturing and information technology improvements.

"Dometic has been a great partner in the LaGrange community and we're excited that they have chosen our county as the appropriate place to grow their operations," said Keith Gillenwater, executive director of the LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation. "We look forward to working with Dometic as they grow."

Dometic Corporation has requested that taxes on this additional investment into the LaGrange facility be phased in over time through the use of tax abatement. The company could realize approximately $120,000 in real and personal property tax savings over ten years. The LaGrange town council will consider this request at its upcoming meeting. The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Dometic LLC up to $1.1 million in performance based tax credits and up to $320,000 in training grants across the two projects based on the company's job creation plans.
