LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation Honors Five Area Companies with 2nd Annual “Business Excellence” Awards

LaGrange, IN. (March 12, 2012) The LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation honored five LaGrange County companies with their 2nd Annual “Business Excellence” awards at the LCEDC’s annual Investor’s Meeting on Friday, March 9, 2012.  The meeting was held at the Michiana Event Center in Howe, IN. along with the Northeast Indiana Woodcrafter’s Association’s Annual Furniture Expo.      

The companies honored were: Crossroads RV, Cruiser RV, Open Range RV, Trinity Pallet & Logistics, and Tri-State Hardwood Company, Inc.  The companies were chosen for their contributions to LaGrange County’s economic growth in 2011 as well as for partnering with the LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation to assist them in their business development projects.  

“We are honored to be able to work with the companies that were recognized today” said Keith Gillenwater, President & CEO of the LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation.  “All of the companies honored today are industries in our core areas of focus for LaGrange County’s current and future economic development, and exemplify the quality of companies that we have in LaGrange County.”

“These five companies have a tremendous economic impact on LaGrange County and are very valued employers” said Mark Leu, Chairman of the Board for the LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation.  “We developed this award as a way to acknowledge companies who have contributed to our communities continued growth and I cannot think of a more deserving group to recognize.”

In addition to honoring the local companies, the LCEDC also recognized outgoing Chairman Joe Pierce of Farmer’s State Bank and honored him for his guidance in helping launch the LCEDC and serving as its first board chairman, a post he held since the organizations inception in 2009.  Gillenwater and Leu also gave reports on the state of the local economy, a recap of the organizations 2011 activities and successes, and a preview of projects and priorities for 2012.  “We are off and running with a new strategic plan in place that gives us to a call to action, and we believe that 2012 promises to be a great year for our economic development efforts in LaGrange County,” Gillenwater said.
