LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation Receives Award for its Website

LaGrange, IN. (December 8, 2010) The LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation recently was honored for its work on its new website, http://www.lagrangecountyedc.com the LCEDC announced today.

The award was received December 6, 2010 at a ceremony at the Mid-America Economic Development Council’s 2010 Competitiveness Conference and Site Selector’s forum.  The website received 2nd place in the “Small Communities” category for best websites.  The criteria for the category were for agencies with marketing budgets under $100,000.

“We are very excited to have received this award” said Keith Gillenwater, Executive Director of the LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation.  “We worked very hard on putting together the content and design for the website, and are glad to have received recognition for our hard work.”  The website was developed in conjunction with Cirrus ABS, a web development firm headquartered in Fort Wayne, IN.

Judges in the competition specifically noted that the site had very clean navigation, had a good sites and building database, had good placement of contact information for the organization, and offered translations into a number of different languages.  Judges also noted that the appearance and quality of the site suggest that the LaGrange County EDC is very professional in its appearance and offers quality information and business development efforts to its potential clients.

“The criteria for the category were for marketing budgets under $100,000, which put us in competition with organizations that are much, much larger than our own.  MAEDC covers a ten state region, so to be recognized for our hard work like that makes us feel pretty remarkable.  We would like to thank those many people and companies that have supported us, and specifically thank Cirrus ABS for helping us create such a great website” Gillenwater said.  Gillenwater also noted that the LCEDC is hard at work with Cirrus ABS on launching new updates to the site, including adding new report building and printable features, as well as a newly updated GIS-based sites and building database.    “The value of an attractive and easy to use site that is constantly updated cannot be stressed enough in the field of economic development” Gillenwater said.
