One of LaGrange County’s most significant assets is its proximity to the I-80/90 Indiana Toll Road. This is an important advantage for companies that rely on heavy transportation for goods and services, as well as companies that conduct business in other markets. In operation since 1956, the I-80/90 Indiana Toll Road runs through the northern part of the county and gives quick access to larger markets, including Cleveland, Toledo and Chicago. The connections with I-65 and I-69 lead to major destinations in the South and on the Gulf Coast. LaGrange County can be found off of exit 121 of the Indiana Toll Road.
The Indiana Toll Road is 157 miles long and runs east west across northern Indiana, from the Illinois state line to the Ohio state line. The toll road comes within 200 yards of the Michigan state line, although it never enters Michigan.
The I-80/90 Indiana Toll Road also leads to one of LaGrange County’s premiere locations to conduct business. Located just off the Indiana Toll Road is the Fawn River Crossing Industrial Park. The LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation recently worked with CenturyLink to expand fiber optic facilities to the industrial park, marking the last major milestone to complete at the park to make all of the available sites shovel ready. In fact, one 114 acre greenfield site at the Fawn River Crossing Industrial Park recently became one of six northeast Indiana sites that have been certified “site ready” by the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership.
