In order to have a thriving economy you need people, and those people need a place to call home. One major focus for our office is housing. The communities in LaGrange County have come together to support proposed housing development projects in response to the 2019 LaGrange County Housing Market Potential Analysis, and an obvious need for more homes in our county. The current proposed projects will introduce 151 new housing units of many types in Topeka, with other potential projects being discussed in both LaGrange and Shipshewana.
Additionally, with the help of the Housing Resource Hub and their Club 720 app current and future residents may qualify for Hoosier Homes. Hoosier Homes is a down payment assistance program that is made available to qualifying repeat and first-time homebuyers looking to purchase a home in LaGrange County.
