State of LaGrange County

A lot has been happening in LaGrange County over the past few years, and if you haven’t been keeping up, you might be surprised at just how much progress is in motion. It all started with a big step in 2022 when the county adopted its Comprehensive Plan, laying out a long-term vision for growth, infra­structure, and community development. Since then, that momentum has only picked up speed.

In 2024, LaGrange County spent the year pur­suing a Stellar Pathways designation—an effort that not only brought the com­munity together but also secured a $50,000 grant to develop a Strategic Invest­ment Plan that will help guide major projects for years to come. That same year, the county adopted a new Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), mod­ernizing zoning and land use regulations to support smart, sustainable growth. Meanwhile, local orga­nizations like the Com­munity Foundation and LaGrange County Trails have been hard at work on the county’s first-ever Trails Master Plan, en­suring future connectivi­ty and outdoor recreation opportunities. With all these pieces coming to­gether, LaGrange County is making real, tangible progress—and there’s still more ahead. With all of that said –

YOU ARE INVITED to the First-Ever State of LaGrange County: A Cel­ebration of Progress and Community. On Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 5-8 PM, LaGrange County will take a big step forward in community engagement and collaboration with our first-ever State of La­Grange County event. This gathering, envisioned in our Comprehensive Plan as a way to track and cel­ebrate our county’s prog­ress, is more than just an update—it’s a chance for us to come together, reflect on how far we’ve come, and look ahead to the fu­ture we’re building togeth­er.

From 5-6 PM and 7-8 PM, the event will run like a vendor fair, giving at­tendees the opportunity to stop by tables representing each of our communities and various organizations. Whether you want to learn more about initiatives hap­pening in your town, ex­plore available resources, or simply connect with others who care about La­Grange County’s future, this will be a fantastic op­portunity to do so.

At 6 PM, the focus shifts to the stage as leaders from our communities, the county, and LaGrange County Together each take a few minutes to provide updates on their work. You’ll hear firsthand about accomplishments, ongo­ing efforts, and the prior­ities shaping our path for­ward.

Light refreshments will be provided, and food trucks will be on-site with food available for purchase – including local favorites like Party on the Patio, Ed’s Fish and More, and Mamazzoni’s Italian Beef! This isn’t just a meeting— it’s a celebration of our shared progress, with a little something for every­one.

Hosting an annual State of LaGrange County event is a key part of our plan to ensure transparency, accountability, and con­tinued collaboration. This event reflects our commit­ment to sustained momen­tum, community-driven progress, and working to­gether to create a thriving LaGrange County.
